B.O.M is a belter!
Australian electronic wizard B.O.M has released his latest track titled ‘Get Shaky’ and it’s a DnB marvel that’s bound to be heard in clubs across the globe very soon. We got the opportunity to ask the electronic magician a few questions and we found out why he chose to remake ‘Get Shaky", what Australian festivals he would like to play and who would be his ultimate collab partner.
For those that haven’t been exposed to B.O.M before, what EDM genre label do you place on yourself?
I’ve produced quite a number of tracks ranging from Mid-Tempo to Dubstep. But I have found my home producing Drum and Bass for about 2 years.

B.O.M, you have just dropped your new track 'Get Shaky' Tell us about the new song.
This tune was the first I ever made that kicked off on Tik Tok. I remember driving home from work one night and Spotify started to just play random tunes and the original ‘Get Shaky’ by Ian Carey came on. It instantly brought back memories from my early teens listening to the Ministry of Sound albums. I just knew I needed to give it a modern Drum and Bass remake ready for the dance floor.
Will 'Get Shaky' be a stand-alone single or do you have plans to release another EP soon?
‘Get Shaky’ itself is a stand-alone single. I haven’t got any plans on an EP but I’ll never say no to a collection of music being released like that in the future. I have a few more singles coming before the end of the year, so stay tuned.
Remixes are especially big in the EDM world, so who would you like to see have a crack at 'Get Shaky' and why?
Oh wow, I haven’t even thought of that yet but off the top of my head, I just know Odd Mob would spin up something wild The bloke is a genius.

Who would your ultimate Collab Partner be?
I have so many heroes, especially in the Drum and Bass scene. Hedex, Bou, Tsuki and Serum to name a few but honestly Stormy on a DnB tune would be wild as well.
You have served as a producer for some of the UK's biggest MC's including Mr Traumatik, Local & Fernquest. Is it difficult producing for someone else and trying to combine their desires and what you know will make the track better?
Everyone I’ve worked with has been super easy to create with. Communication is always key when collabing and the continuous bouncing of ideas with everyone involved always delivers the best final product.
Which hats fits B.O.M better artist or a producer? Which role brings you the most satisfaction?
I honestly love both parts just as equally. There is no better feeling than writing a tune in my bedroom on my laptop and then taking that tune to a show and playing it for everyone and seeing their reactions. Goosebumps.
We are rapidly approaching Australia's Festival season. Will fans be able to see you on the Festival circuit this summer? Can you confirm any festival appearances for our readers?

We saw you play at last year's Festival X, and you have played Fuzzy's Touch Bass, so what's the one Australian festival you haven't played yet but would love to and why?
Spilt Milk Canberra was the first major festival I went to when I turned 18 so it holds a special place in my heart so definitely that, also Field Day in Sydney. I feel like Field Day in Sydney is the Mecca of festivals for Sydney.
Without naming names what’s the craziest or funniest thing you have seen happen backstage at a festival?
I have fallen off a stage before kind of lost my bearings and slipped off the back and got a nasty gash on my shin but finished the set
Who in your crew or team deserves a shout-out but never gets one? And what is it they do that keeps your world turning?
My manager Elliott Harper. If he isn’t single-handedly keeping Sydney bass music nightlife alive by running Cult Nightclub, He is also looking after everything I do. I met him while playing GoodLife Festival when I was 16 and he’s been part of the journey ever since.
